Directed by Allan Moyle
USA / 90 mins / PG
The fate of Empire Records changes in a night when Joe trusts Lucas to close up. Lucas loses Joe’s money and without it, the store that they all love is now at risk of turning into a franchise establishment. With broken hearts, dysfunctional friendships and emotions running high, can this ragtag team of music lovers come together to rescue their haven from hell?
Empire Records first hit cinemas in 1995 and has aged beautifully since. It has earned for itself the status of a cult hit that launched multiple careers, including that of Renee Zellweger and Liv Tyler. As with Pump Up the Volume (1990), director Allan Moyle once again explored the power of music and the community that comes together because of it.
